Our Swim Groups

Spartan Aquatic Club (SAC) has the following swimming groups:

Bronze

This group is for advanced beginners. This group is for swimmers who are able to swim four lengths of the pool (100 yards) without stopping and have a basic understanding of the four strokes (50 of each, legally). Bronze swimmers will work on four competitive strokes and learn how to train while using the clock. These bronze swimmers will train up to twice a week. Space is limited.

Silver

This group is for intermediate swimmers. Silver training emphasizes proper stroke technique, including starts, turns and stroke finishes. This group is for swimmers who can successfully swim in all four competitive strokes legally (100 yards of each and swim 8 X 50's in under 1:20 for each one). Silver swimmers train up to three days per week. Space is limited.

Spartan

This group is for advanced swimmers. Technique, endurance, goal setting, and racing strategies are all developed on at this level. These swimmers aspire to reach State, Zone, Sectional and Junior National Qualifications. Spartans are serious about their swimming, and train up to six days per week. These swimmers must have head coach approval to train with this group and be able to complete (10 X 100's on 1:30). Space is limited.

Practice Location

SAC practices take place at either Novi High School, which is located at 24062 Taft Road, Novi;

Hillside Middle School which is located at 775 North Center Street, Northville; Stevenson High School which is located

at 33500 6 Mile Road, Livonia; Franklin High School which is located at 31000 Joy Road, Livonia.

Additional Notes

• Swim session fees are NOT pro-rated for new swimmers joining SAC after a "one-week-free" tryout.
• USS Registration Fee goes entirely to USA Swimming. It is $56 per swimmer once a swimming year starting September 1, 2011 and ending August 31, 2012.
• SAC Family Registration is $75 per family once a swimming year starting September 1, 2011 and ending August 31, 2012.
• Multi-Swimmer Discount: Session fees are reduced by $20 per swimmer after one full-price swimmer in a family. (Full sessions only).
